365(ish) Days of Love

I don't want to brag.
I don't even really want to support this hoax called Valentine's Day. Don't get me started on why this dumb, artificial, made up holiday should not be allowed on the calender.

But Honeykins is pretty good to me. And, he thought to send flowers and cards, even if he was going to be out of town. Complete with only 3 baby carnations (which, in my opinion, rank just above the dandy lion in the flower world, but are always used in bouquets) and stargazer lilies, which are my favorite. Not too big that I could yell at him for spending too much money, but cute, modern, delivered to the house and fragrant. And, it came in a really cool square vase, which I'm pretty sure he had nothing to do with, but I like it anyway.

So, here is to celebrating having someone who knows how to make you happy.
Not just one day, but 365(ish) days a year.

Georgia Snow Dog

Go ahead, northern friends, start your laughing now. Snow doesn't come to Georgia often, but when it does, we love/hate every flake of it!

Henry doesn't really like the snow. But, as always, he loves his ball.
So, playtime with Dad begins.

Henry says, "Stay out of my yard!"

Sporting the parka and camo t-shirt.

Does it mean it's cold when he has ice in his whiskers?!

Me with Henry!

Happy Snow Days! Drive safe!

Big Mack Turns One!

This little guy is turning one this month and his mom wanted to get some photos of him in the outfit that she MADE him. That's right ladies and gentlemen, I said, the outfit she MADE and MONOGRAMMED for him! Now, pick up your jaws and don't get mad that the last thing you made your kids was mac and cheese out of a box, we are not here to judge. We are here to look at an adorable (almost) one year old!

Those little hands aren't going to stay little for long!
(fear not, there was no chocolate to ruin the outfit!)

Stinkin' adorable.

Mack is lucky to have 2 older sisters that simply adore him and love on him as much as they can. He does a great job of being the happy-go-lucky third child. He is always smiling. And pretty soon is going to be the same size as his 5 year sister!

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peak at your photos!
Thank you for having me and I can't wait to so it again. :)

Winter Blues Banished

We have been waiting and waiting and WAITING for a day that wasn't freezing/sleeting/snowing/raining here in Georgia and well, we didn't get it this day! It was a lovely misting cold rain, but this family was such good sports about fitting me in their busy schedule. Nothing gets me out of the "winter flunk" like finding an adorable family to photograph and this one did the trick for me!
Oliver is about the turn one and is constantly ON THE GO! He did sit for a little bit before he took off again.

Oliver's mom has such a great sense of style, I saw this fabulous chair in her hallway and knew we had to use it in the shoot. Loved it! (and the baby)

I mean, what a cute family! And the expression on Oliver's face is pretty priceless too!

Those big brown eyes and lumberjack hat...
ladies get ready for this!!!

Oliver would climb on his radio flyer and start screaming with excitement! It looked like he was getting ready to ride his Harley! Just a few more years, buddy.

Like father, like son.

Thanks again for having me in your home to photograph your family. If this is what we get in bad weather, I can't wait for a sunny day with you all! :)

California Dreaming-Part I

The weather here in the southeast hasn't been very picturesque in the last couple of weeks, mostly cold and rainy, the kind of weather that makes you want to stay in your p.j.'s all day and start dreaming of living in California! As I don't have a studio, (I do all of my photography sessions in natural light) there hasn't been great opportunities to do many sessions. We had to reschedule another one today. :( But this time does allow for me to go back and edit pictures of my own that I never get around to doing!

Here are some photos from our trip to California this summer. (glup-6 months ago!!!) These are from our last day when we stumbled upon an antique car show in the streets of Carmel. Now, I don't know anything about cars, nor do I really care much about cars, (evidence of my old school 2002 Jetta that I drive!) but these babies were enough to make any ambivalent car owner drool over these shiny machines. Check it out!

Or this one!

This was my favorite. It's my favorite colors and was sponsored by Tiffany's, hence all the signature blue boxes in the car.

Love, love, LOVE!

I was drawn to the beautiful robin's egg blue of these boxes with the shiniest silver trophies I have ever seen sitting on top. Plus, they had gorgeous hydrangeas outlining the area that made it extra lovely!

I don't know why, but I loved this shot of the man straighting the trophies. If you look closely, you can see me taking the picture in the first trophy. (Hint: I'm wearing an orange shirt!)

Keep your fingers crossed that the weather gets a little better in Georgia, but if it doesn't, be on the look out for California Dreaming-Part II. And let me know if you want to get in on the photo shot action when the weather gets better.

Calling All Coat-a-holics!

I live in Georgia.
And I don't like cold weather. Which generally works out, because its pretty hot here most of the time. Now, living in Georgia, you really don't need a coat but a few months out of the year. Generally speaking, a raincoat and a winter coat will pretty much cover any situation. I am embarrassed to admit that I just went down to the coat closet where I found ten, count 'em TEN, coats with my name on them!!

YIKES!

That is a lot of coats for a person that doesn't like it to drop below 50 degrees.

Lucky for me, my school, The Atlanta Academy is having a Coat Drive all this week! One of the reasons I love my school is that each grade level does a community service project every year. This coat drive is the Kindergarten and Young-5's project and all of the coats go to North Fulton Charities, which I know from personal experience does amazing things in our community.

So, here is what you can do to help:

1) Admit you have a coat problem. (I mean, how many black coats do you really need?)

2) Look in your coat closet, basement, attic, kids rooms, garage, your spouses' side of the closet and find those unused coats!

3) Bring them to The Atlanta Academy by Friday January 15, and hand them to an adorable kindergartener collecting at the door.

4) Come home to a cleaner, less cluttered house and know that you did something to keep someone warmer tonight.

Any questions, give me a call or email!
Thank you!
